Three factions, three ways to win
European Helion Coalition
Fewer, costlier units that strike from the air with lasers.
Eastern Coalition Authority
Heavy armor and artillery, fielded in numbers.
United Dominion
Stealth units, and weapons that poison the ground.
Every base starts as one vehicle
Drive your Command Vehicle to the site, and it anchors and rises into a Command Center. Every building after it grows out of the ground. Nothing in Helion Rift goes up instantly.
Helion pays for the war
Harvesters bring Helion, the crystal the world runs on, back to your refinery. Helion Prime is rarer and worth more. It's also radioactive, and infantry standing on it take damage.
Destroy a bridge, redraw the map
Bridges and crossings can be destroyed. Cut one, and a river becomes a wall the enemy has to go around.
Heavy armor crushes infantry
Infantry that doesn't clear the path of a heavy vehicle gets run over.
You command the whole battle
It's 2156. The world runs on Helion, and three superpowers are fighting a war over it that none of them will admit to.
Most of that war is fought without a Leopard Commander. There are only a few hundred of them alive, and they are famous. Sending one in is how a superpower says out loud that this ground is worth it.
You are that commander, and you never set foot on the ground. You sit at a terminal. The base, the factories, the defenses and the army in the field all move because you decided they should, and field commanders and their crews do the standing in the mud.
A machine could run those orders faster than you can. It just can't think of the one thing nobody expected. That is the whole reason the seat exists.
